Halloween Hilo Kids Party moving
The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation is moving the Halloween Hilo Kids Party from Panaewa Park to Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium, 350 Kalanikoa St. in Hilo.
Open to all ages, the free event is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday.
The Department of Parks and Recreation says the venue change will allow more parking to accommodate the large number of participants.

Rotary welcomes newest member
Maurice Goulding became Rotary Club of South Hilo’s newest member, inducted by president Pat Aiona Jr.
Goulding, a San Francisco native, has lived on Kauai and most recently in Chicago. He moved to Hilo after graduating with a degree in industrial technology management and now manages the Waiakea Inc. plant.
Feast in Waikoloa to benefit charities
The fourth annual Feast on the Beach, a holiday benefit for local charities, will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Waikoloa Beach Resort, 69-1081 Kuualii Place.
This year’s feast once again will wow guests with beer, wine and delicious food stations created in conjunction with Paradise Gourmet Catering along with Lava Lava Beach Club’s signature toes-in-the-sand ambiance.
Nonstop music by LT Smooth and Ho‘onu‘a throughout the evening will set the party mood in full swing.
This year’s beneficiaries include the Hawaii Island Humane Society, Hospice of Kona, Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Lava Kids, Kona Community Hospital Foundation and North Hawaii Hospice.
Tickets, priced at $125 per person or $1,750 for a reserved table of 10, are available from participating nonprofit partners.
Management skills workshops slated
The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is offering a pair of workshops focusing on the fundamentals of professional development.
The classes can be taken for a bundled discount of $80 for both or separately for $45 each.
• Supervisory Skills: Making the Transition from Buddy to Boss is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in UCB Room 331.
• Management
Skills: Keys to Effective Leading is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in UCB Room 331.
The sessions will focus on practical instruction that demonstrates the essential skills required to step confidently from personnel to supervisor to manager.
